• Definition: Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA) is a central sector scheme launched in 2020 to provide rural residents with legal ownership of their residential properties.
• Functionality: Utilizes drone technology for high-resolution mapping of inhabited rural areas, creating accurate land records.
• Achievements: Issued legal property ownership cards to over 24.4 million rural households across 1.6 lakh villages, mapping over 100 million property parcels.
• Applications: Facilitates financial stability for rural citizens, aids in property tax determination, supports better Gram Panchayat Development Plans, and reduces property-related disputes.
