About Digital Bharat Nidhi

• Initially known as Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF).
• Established under the Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Act, 2003.
• Renamed to Digital Bharat Nidhi by the Telecommunications Act, 2023​

Objective : Promote access to telecommunication services in underserved rural, remote, and urban areas.

• Support inclusive and affordable telecom services​

Operates under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications.
