Current Context : The 5th AITIGA Joint Committee and related meetings for review of ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA) were held in ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta, Indonesia.

 ABOUT

  • The ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA) is a significant trade pact aimed at enhancing economic cooperation between the ten member states of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and India.
  • Aim : to boost trade in goods between ASEAN member states and India by reducing tariffs, simplifying trade procedures, and fostering economic integration.
  • It was signed at the 7th ASEAN Economic Ministers-India Consultations in Bangkok, Thailand in 2009.
  • The 4th Joint Committee meeting for the review of AITIGA (ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement) was held in Putrajaya, Malaysia
