Current Context : Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko, becomes 1st person to spend 1,000 cumulative days in space.

• Kononenko’s current mission to the ISS began on 15, 2023 and is planned to end on Sept. 23, 2024.
• It will bring in his total number of days spent in orbit to 1,110.
• Kononenko has been on five separate missions to the ISS.
• He also spend three Christmases and New Years in orbit, and celebrated four off-planet birthdays.

Current Context : Bank of Maharashtra launched the Maha Krishi Samridhi Yojana (MKSY).

• Objective : providing financial assistance to food and agro-based industries, agri-infrastructure projects involved in processing activities and the development of agricultural infrastructure facilities.
• It is designed to meet the financial needs of all agri-businesses.
• Under the scheme, For Term Loans, Bank will finance upto 90% of the cost of the project on a case-to-case basis and for working capital limits minimum margin of 25% is to be maintained.

Aim : to enhance internet services in the country.

• The PAKSAT MM1 was launched from China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan province, achieving its planned orbit successfully.

• It was a joint venture between Suparco (Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission) and the Chinese aerospace industry.

Current Context : Institute of Technology (IIT), Dharwad, Karnataka has developed a fire rescue assistant drone.

• It is a new step for fire safety.
• It is designed to be able to fly through small rooms and high temperatures, which is important for fighting fires in complicated places.
• Drone was unveiled during the two-day workshop on ‘Drone design and autonomous navigation in fire rescue’ (DDANFR 2024) was organised by the Fire and Thermal Research Laboratory (FTRL) and the Control Systems and Robotics Laboratory at IIT.

Current Context : Haryana is set to launch Clean Air Project.

• The Haryana Clean Air Project for Sustainable Development will be implemented in the state in a phased manner.
• In the first phase being implemented in the districts falling in the National Capital Region (NCR) and then it will be implemented in entire state.
• It targets promoting cleaner vehicles on roads by electrifying public transportation fleets for intra-city and inter-city travel.
• Aim : to incentivise the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) for private use, especially three-wheelers and four-wheeler taxis.
