Current Context : Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, has launched the Solar Agriculture Feeder Project 2.0, also known as the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 (MSKVY 2.0).
Objective: To provide farmers with reliable daytime solar power for agriculture and reduce dependency on conventional energy.
Target: Solarize 30% of agricultural feeders by 2025 with 7,000 MW of decentralized solar projects.
Budget: ₹100 billion (~$1.2 billion) allocated for the project.
