Current Context : India marked the 120th anniversary of the Servants of India Society, founded in 1905 to promote selfless public service.

ABOUT SERVANTS OF INDIA SOCIETY

• Founders: Gopal Krishna Gokhale, G.  Devadhar, A. V. Patwardhan, N. A. Dravid in Pune, Bombay Presidency.
• Mission: Train young Indians for social service, civic engagement, and national betterment.
• Nature: Non‑political, non‑sectarian volunteer organisation.
• Legacy: Mentored Mahatma Gandhi; influenced India’s reform and independence movements.
