Current Context : The Poorvi Prahaar Tri-Service Exercise is a major military drill conducted by India from November 8, 2024, for 10 days, involving the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Objective: To demonstrate operational readiness and enhance inter-service coordination among the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, focusing on strengthening defense posture along India’s eastern border.

Involved Forces:

  • Indian Army: Infantry Combat units, Artillery Guns, Light Combat Helicopters (LCH), and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
  • Indian Air Force (IAF): Su-30MKIs, Rafales, C-130Js, and helicopters operating from air bases in Kolkata, Hashimara, and others.
  • Indian Navy: Special Forces like MARCOS commandos.
