National Mathematics Day

Celebrated on 22 December annually.

Aim : To celebrate the birth anniversary of the renowned Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan and recognize his contributions to the field of mathematics.

• Established in 2012by the Government of India.
• First celebrated on December 22, 2012.

About Srinivasa Ramanujan:

• Born on December 22, 1887, in Erode, Tamil Nadu.
• Made significant contributions to number theory, infinite series, and continued fractions.
• Known for his work on Ramanujan’s primes and Ramanujan’s tau function.
