ABOUT MLALAD FUND
- It is modeled on a similar programme for MPs, providing funding for each constituency directly from the government.
- It provides funding for local development projects proposed by MLAs, such as repairing roads, installing streetlights, and improving public spaces like parks
- Although MLAs do not directly receive the funds, they can recommend projects to the Deputy Commissioner for approval.
- Developmental Focus: Projects must be of developmental nature and capable of being completed within a financial year, focusing on durable infrastructure.
- Allocation: Funds are released annually as grant-in-aid, enabling districts to implement the projects.
