International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression

Observed annually on 4 June.

Aim : to highlight the plight of children worldwide who suffer physical, mental, and emotional abuse during armed conflicts.

• Established By: UN General Assembly Resolution A/RES/ES-7/8 (1982).
• Purpose:
  1. Acknowledge the pain suffered by children in conflict zones.
  2. Reaffirm UN commitment to protect children’s rights under Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989).
