Best Tourism Villages Award 2024

Current Context : The Ministry of Tourism in Government of India announced the winners of the Best Tourism Villages Competition 2024 on the occasion of World Tourism Day 2024.

ABOUT

• The annual Best Tourism Villages Competition, organised by the Ministry of Tourism.
• Aim : to recognise and honour villages that exemplify the qualities of an outstanding rural tourism destination.
• It showcases the renowned cultural and natural assets, preserves and promotes community-based values, goods, and lifestyles of the villages in India.
• It promotes the commitment of the villages towards sustainability in all of its aspects – economic, social, and environmental.
• The first edition of the Best Tourism Villages Competition in 2023 saw applications from 795 villages.
