Current Context : The Union Cabinet has announced nationwide celebrations marking the 150^th anniversary of India’s national song “Vande Mataram”, which continues to inspire patriotism and unity.

• Declared National Song: 24 January 1950 — equal status with the National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana”.
