- He highlighted the contribution of artisans from Paithan, Maharashtra, especially Kavita Dhawale, who has enabled employment for 350+ women weavers through her centre.
ABOUT PAITHANI SAREES
- Origin & History:
- Originated in Paithan, on the banks of the Godavari River, in Maharashtra.
- Traces back to the 2nd century BC, during the Satavahana Dynasty.

- Handwoven in pure silk, combined with gold or silver zari work.
