International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2022: June 26.

History

• On December 7, 1987, the United Nations General Assembly decided to observe June 26 as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. It did so to strengthen their efforts in order to achieve the goal of making the society free of drug abuse.

Theme for 2022

• “Addressing drug challenges in health and humanitarian crises”
• The theme has been selected in the wake of widespread humanitarian crises in Afghanistan and Ukraine even as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be a major global health crisis.
