• Uttarakhand was formed on November 9, 2000, after being separated from Uttar Pradesh as the 27^th State of India.
• It is known as “Dev Bhumi,” or “Land of Gods” for housing the Char Dham (Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri).
