Vinay Kwatra is new Indian Ambassador to USA

Current Context : Former Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra has been appointed as the next Indian Ambassador to the US.

• The post was vacant since January after the retirement of Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
• Vinay Kwatra is a 1988 batch Indian Foreign Service Officer.
• He was remained as the Foreign Secretary from April 2022 to July 2024.

Kwatra ended his term as the Foreign Secretary on July 15 and was succeeded by Vikram Misri.
