Current Context : Institute of Technology (IIT), Dharwad, Karnataka has developed a fire rescue assistant drone.
- It is a new step for fire safety.
- It is designed to be able to fly through small rooms and high temperatures, which is important for fighting fires in complicated places.
- Drone was unveiled during the two-day workshop on ‘Drone design and autonomous navigation in fire rescue’ (DDANFR 2024) was organised by the Fire and Thermal Research Laboratory (FTRL) and the Control Systems and Robotics Laboratory at IIT.
