The Demon Dance or Chhamb in Kinnaur area is performed with demons masks numbering three, five, seven or nine.
Dressed in their demon costumes and masks all in the group follow the footsteps of leader who is known as ‘Ghure’.
This is also known as Lama Devi dance. The sacred masked dance locally known as ‘Chhamb’ is performed only by the Lamas in the monasteries before a large number of spectators on some festive occasion.

In the Kayang dance, men and women form semicircle with a musician in the centre.
In Bakayang dance, there are two or three rows of dancer facing each other and in both there are forward and backwards steps. This dance is mostly performed by women.
The Banyangchu dance is generally a male dance. It is a free style dance on any selected tune. Women sometimes provide vocal music from outside.
