ABOUT GNSS-BASED ELECTRONIC TOLL COLLECTION (ETC)

Working Principle:

• Satellite-Based Tracking: Uses GNSS technology to track the vehicle’s position in real-time.
• Distance-Based Toll Calculation: Calculates toll charges based on the distance traveled by the vehicle.

Main Components:

1. On-Board Unit (OBU) : Determines the vehicle’s route, tracks its location, and calculates the toll based on distance traveled.

2. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Cameras: Installed on highways and toll plazas will recognizes the vehicle’s number plate for identification and toll deduction.

3. Toll Collection Center:
