The Nirmand copper plate of 7th century AD issued by Mahasamanta Maharaja Samudrasena is an important historical document.
In the year 2011, Himachal Pradesh Language, Art and Culture academy found 600 year old manuscript in Spiti valley. This manuscript deals with Ayurvedic system of medicine. This is written in Bhoti language.
Another manuscript written in golden words was found in Tholag Village of Lahaul Valley.
