Question: Explain why do India needs renewable and clean energy?    4 Marks

Answer: 

Clean energy means producing power without having negative environmental impacts. It helps in reducing air pollution.

Renewable energy is derived from natural resources that replenish themselves. These resources – such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves, biomass and thermal energy. They are virtually inexhaustible. A lot of clean energy is also renewable, including wind power, some hydro resources and solar powered energy generation.

India Needs Renewable and Clean Energy –

1. Rising demand for the energy because of population surge and increasing urbanization.
2. Due to exhaustible hydrocarbon energy resources we need renewable energy for the diversification of energy basket and energy security.
3. Under the wake of global warming and climate change we need clean and green energy to reduce carbon emission.
