Question: What were the four priority areas of BRICS 13th Summit? (4 marks/60 words)

Answer:

The 13th BRICS Summit was held under India’s Chairship on 09 September 2021. It is the third time when India has hosted the BRICS Summit after 2012 and 2016.

BRICS is an acronym for the grouping of the world’s leading emerging economies namely Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa.The first BRIC summit took place in the year 2009 in Russia. In 2010, South Africa formally joined the association making it BRICS.

India has outlined four Priority areas which are as follows:

  1. Reform of Multilateral System.
  2. Counter Terrorism.
  3. Using Digital and Technological Tools for Achieving SDG’s and Enhancing.
  4. Enhancing People to People Exchange.
