According to United Nations Development Program (UNDP), inclusive growth is “the process and the outcome where all groups of people have participated in the organisation of growth and have benefited equitably from it”.
The main elements of the inclusive growth:
Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
The sustainable development has ecological, social and economic aspects and the main challenge lies in optimizing these three aspects.
The relationship between SDG goals and Inclusive growth:
Goal 1: end poverty everywhere; Goal 2: end hunger/ malnutrition; Goal 5: end inequality between sexes; Goal 6: universal access to water and sanitation; Goal 7: universal access to energy; Goal 8: employment for all; Goal 9: inclusive industrialization; Goal 10: reduce inequalities; Goal 15: sustainable livelihoods; Goal 16: inclusive institutions.
The SDG goals helps in achieving inclusive growth.
a) enhance the level of protection for the poor and the small-scale sector, and
b) to a limited extent include all in the opportunities for development.
c) focus on building resilience and adaptive capacity.
d) promote rule of law and equality of access.
However, they do not address the logic of market based economic growth, safeguard public goods from privatization and securitization, or ensure downward accountability.
