Horticulture is a type of agriculture in which generally garden crops, e.g. fruits, flowers, and vegetables are grown. Fruit growing in Himachal is presently fetching over 300 crore annually.

1. Total area under Horticulture (2018-19)	232139 Hectare
2. Total Fruit Production (2018-19)	495362 M.T.
3. Gross value of the Fruit Produce ( Rs.) 2018-19	3313.68 Crore
4. Area under floriculture ( 2018-19 )	705.77 Hectare
5. Total Production of Mushroom ( 2018-19 )	14206.70 M.T.

The problems faced by the farmers have been examined with respect to production problems, such as problems associated with quality of land, labour, seed, irrigation, fertilizers, plant protection chemicals and the problems faced by the farmers in the marketing of their produce, like grading, packing, transportation, storage, price, market information, market mal-practices etc.

Conclusion –Horticulture offers the better and optimal use of land, besides checking soil erosion and ameliorating the economic condition of the farmers.
