Question: Explain the formation of Duars and Doons. (4 Marks)

Answer: 

Duns’ are longitudinal valleys between the Lesser Himalayas and the Shiwaliks. Dun is a local word for valley, particularly an open valley in the Shivalik’s or between the Shivalik’s and higher Himalayan foothills. Other valleys in this region have names like Patli Dun, Kotli Dun, Pinjore Dun in Himachal.
